The 5 “Magic Veggies” – Quick Fix Smoothie Recipe

I call them “Magic” because (within reason) you can mix them with fruit and other things (like coffee drinks!) and any vegetable taste “magically” disappears! If you are looking for a creative way to include more vegetables in someone’s diet, and you don’t want the taste of vegetables… try the “magic veggies”!

Ingredients:

  • Cabbage (red or green)
  • Spinach
  • Carrot
  • Yellow Squash
  • Zucchini

Instructions:

I use about 1/3 to 1/2 a cup in a batch (of juice or ice cream) that is going to reach the 4 cup line of the 64 oz. container. I use them in my fruit juices, and I use them in coffee drinks (like mocha frappuccino).

NOTE: Please remember that you don’t have to use all 5 at once.1/3 to 1/2 a cup of whatever of the five you have on hand will work. I only use all 5 at a show because if I told you there were 5 “magic veggies” and I didn’t prove it to you, you might not believe me! I try to rotate them so the kids get a variety of nutrients.

And of course, you don’t have to use these “Magic” Veggies at all if you don’t want to!
